Zachariah – Hey Guys,

I have been binge listening to the podcast, when I get a chance, for the last few weeks. Except for the sound levels I love it.  I have two questions: First I am saving for my next shop tool and can’t decide if I should get a surface planer or a drum sander and was wondering what your opinions would be, what would you recommend?  The second is about pricing pens.  My 9 year old and I are turning pens and would like to sell them but don’t have any idea how to price them.  I see them on Etsy for $10, and have more in materials than that.  I notice Sean that you have them on your site for between $90 and $160 right now, how do you decide?

Keep it up guys.

Zachariah

Vince – Over the summer, we built a new screened porch. I ended up with a bunch of left over 1×4 and 1×6 cedar that is rough on one side and smooth on the other.  Also have several 2×6 and 2×8 dimensional cedar boards. I was thinking of planing and jointing the rough cedar and making cedar chests for my kids.  What do you think? Is that the right kind of wood? Any other advice is welcome.

Thanks.

Vince

Keith Decent – My Favorite Podcast of Ever – 5 Stars – There’s nothing like listening to these three every Friday on my ride home from my “treatments.”  I’m always into the shop talk, of course, but also like hearing about Sean’s chickens at his farm house, Brian’s newest book release, or the many heartwarming stories Kyle tells about his kids and Star Wars.  Please never stop making it the best podcast of all time.
Edowney9 – Great Podcast – 5 Stars – Informative and fun.  Very inspiring too.

Jacob Burkhalter – Hey guys,
My friend and I are custom furniture makers who both worked at a furniture shop for a few years and both quit to start our own independent furniture businesses. We have so been inspired by your podcast and the very few other good quality woodworking podcasts that we want to contribute and start our own. I was wondering if you guys had some advice on podcasting to give some noobs.
I really don’t want to have yet another shitty woodworking podcast, and I listen to an insane amount of all types of podcasts, so I’m very conscious of wanting to do a quality, entertaining podcast.
I thought it might actually be nice to be able to call in on the show sometime and ask you a few podcasting questions for the call in segment but I don’t know if people want to hear about podcasting on the show.
Let me know what you think!
Live the show keep up the good work
