  1. Gentlemen,

I am in the final stages of completing a bow arm Morris Chair and requisite foot stool. The motivation for this project was sipping Scotch. It is made of QSWO a with turned walnut pegs for the recliner and seat adjustments. The upholstery will be a simple full grained black leather which should play nicely with the medullary rays and quarter sawn grain of the white oak. I am currently completing the finishing (BLO, 2 coats, #0000 steel wool between costs) and sub assembly glue ups and beginning the upholstery process. Its been a long, educational, frustrating and yet rewarding project and I am looking forward to commissioning the chair. I would appreciate some opinions on the commissioning process:
    1. What tumbler should I get? I personally like the Rauk Heavy Tumbler. I figure Kyle would have a good recommendation.
    2. What Scotch is preferable for a Morris Chair Commissioning? (Again a Kyle thing)
    3. Up or Rocks? (Kyle)
    4. What is the appropriate attire? I hate to over dress but would consider putting on my Sunday best for this event.
    5. What Music? I would pick some smooth piano bar jazz (Bill Evans)
    6. Do I need to practice first by watching Nick Offerman’s Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Video?

I am considering playing the Offerman video during the commissioning kind of like training wheels.

    I appreciate any input.

    Kind Regards,
A loyal listener and new patron

    1. Gray, that Raul Heavy Tumbler is pretty amazing. I can’t see how you could go wrong with a glass with like that. Tune in this week for our answers.
